GOVERNMENT FUNDING OF UP TO $26,000 IS AVAILABLE FOR BUSINESSES IN THE CHARTERS TOWERS REGION TO INSTALL SOLAR AND BATTERY STORAGE.

The Charters Towers Chamber of Commerce and Mines and Tropical Energy Solutions has received a grant under the North Queensland Telecommunications and Energy Improvements Scheme to install solar and battery storage systems as part of the Charters Towers Energy Improvement Project.  This is a Federal Government grant, administered by the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA).

The aims of the project are to reduce operating costs for businesses in the Charters Towers region and provide back up power during blackouts.

The Charters Towers Energy Improvement Program will provide matching funding of up to $26,000.

To be eligible you must:

1. Have an ABN.

2. Be located in the Charters Towers Local Government Authority boundary.

Funding is available on a “first in, first served” basis.
