Solarus Apartments – 33 kWp PV Solar Installation
Solarus Body Corporate commissioned Tropical Energy Solutions to design and install a 33kWp PV solar system for its apartment complex.
The system uses a traditional aluminium racking system bolted to the concrete roof of the building.
Before the system was installed the body corporate was using over 100,000kWh per year. This classified them as a large customer and meant they were restricted to using costly electricity tariffs. Since the installation of the PV system they are saving money not only because they are generating most of their power themselves; but the reduced requirement for grid supplied electricity has meant that they are now classified as a small customer, qualifying them for a more efficient tariff.
